To make purchases at a Walgreens Store: Open the secure link from the email you received to display your gift card on your mobile device. You may also print your card and present it at the time of payment. The cashier will scan the barcode. As you use your Card, the balance is reduced by the full amount of each purchase including taxes, charges, and other fees, if any. You can use your Card to pay the full amount of the purchase and applicable taxes if the balance on the Card is sufficient. This gift card got delivered in around 10 minutes. It worked in the store during payment. However to check it’s balance, one may need to ask from the store or maybe register online (not sure).

Gift Card Recommended For In Store Use Only
I do not recommend buying these gift cards unless you plan to use them in store. I added two (2) $25 gift cards to my walgreens.com account and it accepted them as a future payment. However, today when I applied one of those $25 gift cards to my order and entered a credit card for the balance owed, it wiped out the $25 gift card completely and would not accept my order even with my credit card entered. While a customer service representative for Walgreens.com gave me back my $25 gift card as rewards, it’s not the same as only a maximum of $20 in rewards can be used on an order.

Great gift card but besure to monitor ongoing balance
Normally this would be five stars as I was able to get a great holiday deal on a Walgreens gift card for ongoing personal use.However, be aware that there were some sort of breach that compromised my card and potentially others. Walgreens would not elaborate; I only learned of this when my in-store purchase was rejected twice, I checked my balance online with no info provided and was directed to Walgreens security.Replacement was sent via email eventually, but there was no way to be notified by Walgreens of the breach because my card was not registered to my account. So just be aware if you purchased or received one of these around the 2024 holiday season – double check your remaining balance and that the card is valid or reach out to Walgreens.
